Illinois Wesleyan women's golf team excels academically with seven all-American scholars

Seven members of the Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team have been recognized as Women's Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars. This accolade highlights their academic and athletic achievements, with IWU leading the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in honorees.

The awardees include seniors Macy Ludwig, Jadyn Spinks, and Jaque O'Neill; junior Brooke Erhard; sophomores Emily Gastrau and Nora Cerroni; and freshman Grace Fagan. To qualify for this recognition, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, remain on the team's roster through the season's end, and participate in at least half of the team's rounds during the year.

Macy Ludwig concluded her college career with notable achievements, including being named CCIW Women's Golfer of the Year. She earned WGCA All-Region honors and set new records for single-round scoring. Ludwig graduated with a marketing degree while maintaining a 3.90 GPA.

Jadyn Spinks finished her final season with a career-best scoring average and was an All-CCIW performer. She held a 3.66 GPA in psychology.

Jaque O'Neill also completed her senior year with strong performances, earning her third consecutive All-CCIW distinction. She graduated with a marketing degree and a 3.83 GPA.

Brooke Erhard competed in seven tournaments this season, achieving two top-20 finishes while majoring in marketing with a 3.56 GPA.

Emily Gastrau maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA as a business major while competing in ten tournaments this past season.

Nora Cerroni achieved five top-20 finishes in her first year at IWU, holding a 3.81 GPA as she studies biochemistry.

Freshman Grace Fagan had an impressive start to her collegiate career by winning at the Dechert Classic and earning CCIW Women's Golfer of the Week honors while maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA as a biology major.

Overall, these athletes are part of the larger group of 1,499 women golfers recognized from various institutions across NCAA divisions I, II, III, and NAIA programs for their combined academic excellence and dedication to their sport.
