City of Pontiac Housing Study Committee met June 25.

The Housing Study Special Committee meeting was held Wednesday June 25, 2025 at 5:00 pm at the City hall Council Chambers
Present were: Alderman Cranford, Barr, Howard, Giovanini, Bradshaw, Mayor Eckhoff, Lisa Martin, Terry Sullivan, Adam Dontz and City Administrator Woolford.
Old Business
Discussed recent training about land banks and discussed talking to the Decatur and Kankakee land banks to discuss possible City membership.
Alderman Barr discussed the City of Bloomington incentives program and provided their ordinance on what the initiatives are; examples were reduced fees, TIF usage, standardized forms, focus on affordable and low-income housing as well as "missing middle" housing. Discussed taking a closer look as the ordinance and adapting to our needs.
Survey results set for July 30th 5-7 pm at the Eagle Center for the Performing Arts
New Business
Discussed sustainable practices to have a lasting program and impact as a priority.
Discussed creating ideas for surplus City Lots as part of a development incentive program.
