City of Pontiac City Council met July 21.

The regular meeting of the Pontiac City Council was held on July 21, 2025. Mayor Eckhoff called to order the meeting of the City Council at 7:00 P.M.

The City Clerk was directed to call roll, and the following members of the Council were present: Barr, Giovanini, S. Hoerner, A. Hoerner, Causer, Cranford, Howard and Wille.

REGULAR AGENDA

A. Ordinance 2025-0-021

Attorney Schrock presented the ordinance regarding the approved streets for the social district.

Motion was made by Causer, seconded by A. Hoerner to approve Ordinance 2025-0-21. On a roll call vote motion carried 7 Aye, 1 Nay. Aye votes recorded. Barr, S. Hoerner, A. Hoerner, Causer, Cranford, Howard and Wille. Nay votes recorded. Giovanini.

B. Reciprocal Agreement - IL Department of Revenue for Sales Tax Information

City Administrator Woolford presents the sales tax agreement. Listed how it works, and the access it gives. Attorney Schrock discusses the rules. Discussion was held. Motion was made by Cranford, seconded by Barr to approve the Reciprocal Agreement. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, S. Hoerner, A. Hoerner, Causer, Cranford, Howard, Wille.

C. Reciprocal Agreement Telecommunications Tax Information

Mayor Comments

Mayor Eckhoff road along with Chief Davis for the day. Talked about her experiences.

Administrator Comments

Jim Woolford said the parking lot should be finishing soon. The municipal band finished up Friday July 18, 2025. Great turnout all season.

Council Comments

Alderman Giovanini spoke about the issues on Kathryn Street and the bad neighboring. Alderman Howard asked about the Riverside update. Alderman Anna Hoerner gave an update about Last Night event. Questions on the bridge work and how it will affect the parade. Bridge to be finished by the end of August.
