Illinois State University's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Green Bay on Sunday at Festival Foods Field at Aldo Santaga Stadium. The match was interrupted in the 21st minute by a lightning delay that lasted nearly an hour.
The Redbirds started strong, with sophomore Eve Gricius taking an early shot. Green Bay responded quickly, putting pressure on Illinois State's defense and forcing a save from redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Madi Valenti. After play resumed following the weather delay, Illinois State created more chances with shots on goal from Gricius and sophomore Chloe Cline, but both attempts were stopped by the Green Bay goalkeeper. The first half ended without any goals.
Illinois State took the lead early in the second half when senior Abby Hall scored in the 51st minute, assisted by junior Erika Wells. This marked Hall's second career goal and her first of the 2025 season.
Green Bay equalized in the 78th minute with a penalty kick, resulting in a final score of 1-1.
