Beadles-Morse Tennis Courts | Illinois Wesleyan Titans
The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team is set to begin its 2025 fall season at home against Lawrence University. The match will take place at Evergreen Racquet Club on Thursday, September 2, with first serve scheduled for 4 p.m.
Head Coach Jason Van Heuklon enters his fourth year leading the program. He returns seven letter winners from a squad that finished the previous season with an 8-12 record and qualified for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament for a second consecutive year. The eight wins marked the team's best performance since the 2012-13 season.
Among those returning is junior Amber Ehrlich, a two-time All-CCIW selectee who earned second-team honors last season. Ehrlich, who serves as co-captain and has twice been named team MVP, compiled a singles record of 9-12 and went 12-8 in doubles play at the top spot, partnering primarily with fellow junior Olivia Bell. Ehrlich also played one doubles match with now-sophomore Katie Van Heuklon.
The Titans' roster features four newcomers: freshmen Avery Anderson, Adia Douglas, Maggie Klein, and Elana Religioso are all set to make their debuts this fall.
This matchup marks the second straight season that Illinois Wesleyan faces Lawrence University. In their previous meeting in 2024, Illinois Wesleyan secured a 5-2 victory after sweeping doubles matches and earning singles wins from Ehrlich, Kate Christian, then-sophomore Carly Edwards, and then-freshman Angela Zatloka.
Lawrence University ended its last campaign with a 7-11 record. The Vikings have started their current season with an 0-1 mark after falling to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh by a score of 6-1.
