City of Pontiac City Council met Aug. 4.
Here are the minutes provided by the council:
The regular meeting of the Pontiac City Council was held on August 4, 2025. Mayor Eckhoff called to order the meeting of the City Council at 7:00 P.M.
The City Clerk was directed to call roll, and the following members of the Council were present: Giovanini, Barr, Gill, Causer A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard and Wille. The following Council were absent: S. Hoerner and Bradshaw.
CONSENT AGENDA
Motion was made by Howard, seconded by Gill to approve the consent agenda.
On a roll call vote motion carried 8 Aye, o Nay. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard and Wille.

REGULAR AGENDA
A. Farnsworth Project Services Agreement - ITEP
Farnsworth group presented an update in the ITEP funds and the next phase in the project for the Route 66 Trail. While they are still one phase I they are requesting approval for phase II to speed up the process. Discussion was held and questions were raised. Motion was made by Barr, seconded by Causer to approve the project service agreement. On a roll call vote motion carried 9 Aye, o Nay. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, S. Hoerner, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard and Wille.
B. Lease Agreement Rt. 66 Association at Old Fire Station
City Administrator Woolford presents the expired agreement and is looking to update a new lease agreement to keep the association in the current location for the next ten (10) years. Discussion was held.
Motion was made by Cranford, seconded by Causer to approve the lease agreement. On a roll call vote, motion carried 8-0. 1 abstain. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, S. Hoerner, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard. Abstain votes recorded. Wille.
C. Hewn Professional Services Agreement
City Administrator Woolford presents the agreement. Reviewed the new codes and the benefits of the city regarding codes to better develop the city. Discussion was held. Motion was made by Barr, seconded by Howard to approve the Hewn Professional Services Agreement. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, S. Hoerner, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard, Wille.
D. Housing Stude Update
Alderman Cranford updated the council on the town hall that was held. They should be getting the land proposals back soon. Alderman Barr also spoke about the town hall. No Vote.
E. Printing Proposal - Rec Center
Andrew from IT presents the contracts received for the printer at the Rec Center. While going through the best option he thought was Marco. Discussion was held.
Motion was made by Cranford, seconded by S. Hoerner to approve the Marco printer contact at the Rec Center. On a roll call vote, motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, S. Hoerner, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard, Wille.
F. Printing Plotter Proposal - City Hall
Andrew from IT presented the printer options for the printer at City Hall. Marco had the best option for a plotter printer. Discussion was held.
Motion was made by Causer, seconded by Barr to approve the Marco contract for the printing plotter proposal at city hall. motion carried 9-0. Aye votes recorded. Giovanini, Barr, Gill, S. Hoerner, Causer, A. Hoerner, Cranford, Howard, Wille.
Mayor Comments
Mayor Eckhoff wants to hold a meet and greet for the new city council members with the department heads. August 15 is a movie night in the park.
Administrator Comments
Jim Woolford said the police properties meeting is set. Blink Marketing is leasing the old Kmart building. The lease is a ten (10) year lease.
Council Comments
Alderman Giovanini spoke about the issues on Kathryn Street and the bad neighboring. Alderinan Cranford got compliments on the golf course. Alderman Wille questioned the parade change if the bridge is not finished. Alderman Causer talked about the speeding on Henry and South because of the bridge being closed and there are children playing on those streets.
