The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team is set to begin its Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin season at home against North Central College. The match will take place at Evergreen Racquet Club on Wednesday, September 10, with the first serve scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

In their previous match against Illinois College, Illinois Wesleyan won all three doubles contests to secure the doubles point. At the top spot, juniors Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell defeated Alyssa Wise and Clara Bach 6-2. The sophomore pair of Katie Van Heuklon and Gabi Lipske claimed a 6-4 win over Sophie Muir and Lily Ingram at No. 2 doubles. Freshmen Adia Douglas and Elana Religioso earned a 6-3 victory in the third doubles position.

Illinois College gained an early lead in singles play by winning matches at the second and third spots. Douglas tied the overall score with a straight-set win at five singles, while Religioso put Illinois Wesleyan ahead after defeating Sabrina Ingram. Ehrlich secured the overall match for her team by beating Wise 6-4, 6-3.

North Central has won nine consecutive dual matches against Illinois Wesleyan. In their last meeting in October, North Central swept IWU 7-0, with IWU's only win coming in one of the three doubles matches. Then-sophomore Carly Edwards and Van Heuklon took a 6-2 victory over North Central’s Kate Herlihy and Kayla McSweeney at No. 3 doubles.

North Central enters this conference opener following wins over Carroll University (5-2), Millikin University (7-0), Illinois Institute of Technology (7-0), and Lake Forest College (4-3).
