The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team secured a 5-1 victory over Monmouth College at Neis Field on Wednesday night. This win marks the Titans' second of the season, bringing their record to 2-2-0, while Monmouth drops to 3-2-0.

Illinois Wesleyan took control in the first half, scoring three goals in the final 20 minutes before halftime. Sophomore Vanessa Gray made two saves and earned the win as one of three goalkeepers used by the Titans. The team held a significant advantage throughout the match, outshooting Monmouth 51-4 and earning 13 corner kicks compared to Monmouth's one.

Sophomore Ellen Dahlquist set up sophomore Liza Wiley for the opening goal in the 29th minute. Despite strong efforts from Monmouth's goalkeeper against back-to-back shots, Illinois Wesleyan doubled its lead when sophomore Emily Kunzer scored off a pass from freshman MacKenzie Krieger in the 35th minute.

Senior Kayley Carew added another goal with just 13 seconds left in the first half, giving Illinois Wesleyan a 3-0 lead at halftime. In the second half, sophomore Taylor Haun initiated an attack that led to junior Sophie Lampert scoring her fourth career goal. Shortly after, Dahlquist found the net again with help from Wiley to extend the lead to 5-0.

Monmouth managed to score in the 64th minute via a free kick but could not close the gap further. The Titans will next play away at Wartburg College on Sunday, September 14, with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
