The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team will travel to Waverly, Iowa, to face Wartburg College in a non-conference match on Sunday, September 14. The game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest with a 2-2 record after securing back-to-back wins. The Titans recently defeated Illinois College on September 6 and followed up with a home victory against Monmouth on September 10. In the match against Monmouth, five different players scored for Illinois Wesleyan in a 5-1 win. Sophomore Liza Wiley led the team with four points from one goal and two assists. Additional goals came from sophomores Ellen Dahlquist and Emily Kunzer, junior Sophie Lampert, and senior Kayley Carew.
Wartburg College holds a season record of 1-4-0 after losing their most recent game to Saint Mary's (Minn.) by a score of 3-0 on September 10. The Knights will play Macalester at home on Saturday before hosting Illinois Wesleyan the following day.
Historically, Illinois Wesleyan has not won against Wartburg in their three previous meetings. Their last encounter took place at the Midwest Tournament in River Forest, Illinois, where Wartburg won 2-0.
