Illinois State University's soccer team will conclude its non-conference schedule with a match against Saint Louis University on Sunday at Robert R. Herman Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.

This will be the eighth meeting between Illinois State and Saint Louis, with the Billikens leading the series 4-2-1. In their last encounter in August 2021, Saint Louis won 2-0 at Adelaide Street Field.

The first matchup between these teams took place in 1996, when Kathie Kaeche scored Illinois State's first-ever goal at Adelaide Street Field during a 2-2 draw.

Illinois State comes into the game after a scoreless draw against Eastern Illinois, marking the first tie in that series. The Redbirds have recorded four shutouts in their last five games and have allowed only one goal during that span, which is the lowest under head coach Raleigh DeRose since the team achieved five consecutive shutouts in 2019.

Saint Louis recently secured a 3-0 victory over SIUE on September 7th. The Billikens are coached by Katie Shields, who is now in her thirteenth season. Last year, Shields led Saint Louis to its sixth regular-season title in seven years and its seventh consecutive Atlantic 10 conference tournament championship.
