Illinois Wesleyan University's women's golf team holds the lead after the first round of the IWU Fall Classic, played Saturday at Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois. The Titans posted a score of 297, finishing nine-over par and three strokes ahead of second-place DePauw.

Junior Emily Gastrau shot an even-par 72, highlighted by a four-under 32 on the back nine that included an eagle and three birdies. She is tied for second place individually, one stroke behind leader Daisy Williams of DePauw, who carded a 71. "Junior Emily Gastrau (Wauwatosa, Wis.-Wauwatosa East) recorded a four-under 32 on the back-nine, which featured an eagle and three birdies, to get herself back to even par for the day. Gastrau is one shot back of the lead and sits in a tie for second."

Sophomore Gigi Zera finished with a one-over 73 to place in the top ten. "Sophomore Gigi Zera (Glenview, Ill.-Loyola Academy) also sits in the top-10 individually after her one-over round of 73." Other Illinois Wesleyan golfers—Ashley Wells, Breanna Brown, Grace Fagan, and Nora Cerroni—each posted rounds of 76 to tie for thirteenth place.

The team standings show Dubuque in third with a score of 302. Aurora and Carthage complete the top five with scores of 304 and 306 respectively.

The final round will be played Sunday at Ironwood Golf Course with a shotgun start scheduled for 9 a.m.
