Illinois Wesleyan women’s tennis to face Monmouth in non-conference road match

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's tennis team will play Monmouth College in a non-conference match on Tuesday, September 16. The match is set for 4:15 p.m. at Monmouth Tennis Stadium in Monmouth, Illinois.

Illinois Wesleyan enters the contest with a 2-2 overall record and is 0-2 in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play. In their most recent outing, the Titans lost a close 4-3 match to Augustana College. Freshman Elana Religioso won her No. 6 singles match with scores of 6-1, 6-3. Junior Olivia Bell secured a win at No. 4 singles, finishing 6-0, 6-4. Freshman Adia Douglas also contributed with a victory at No. 5 singles, winning 6-4, 6-2.

Last season, Illinois Wesleyan defeated Monmouth College by a score of 6-1. The Titans swept all doubles matches to earn the doubles point advantage. Amber Ehrlich and Olivia Bell took the top doubles spot with a 6-3 win over Monmouth’s leading pair. Kate Christian and Gabi Lipske posted a shutout at No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-0, while Katie Van Heuklon and Angela Zatloka earned a 6-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play during last year’s meeting, Gabi Lipske, Katie Van Heuklon, Olivia Bell, Kate Christian, and Carly Edwards all notched wins for Illinois Wesleyan.

Monmouth College comes into Tuesday's matchup seeking its first win of the season after starting the year with an 0-5 record. Most recently, Monmouth lost to Lake Forest College by a score of 7-0 on Saturday, September 13.
