The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team made a significant comeback during the final round of the Division III Preview, held at Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. After starting the tournament in 22nd place, the team moved up to finish fourth overall by posting a final round score of 10-under par 278 on the El Campeon Course.

Sophomore Pablo Castro recorded a personal best with an eight-under-par 64 in his last round. His bogey-free performance matched the program's 18-hole-to-par record previously set by Quinn Clifford in 2022 and Griffin Pohl in 2025. "Castro's bogey-free final round ties the 18-hole-to-par program record set by Quinn Clifford in 2022 and Griffin Pohl in 2025," according to the university.

Other notable performances included senior Aidan Healy and freshman Jared Code, both finishing their final rounds with one-under-par scores of 71. Senior Michael Spitzer contributed an even-par round of 72.

Oglethorpe's Jackson Hiller led from start to finish, winning the individual title with a total score of 13-under par. In team competition, Emory University secured first place, followed closely by Methodist and Oglethorpe. Illinois Wesleyan finished just two shots behind Emory, while Huntingdon completed the top five teams.

The Titans will take a break before participating in the Wabash Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis on October 6-7.
