The Illinois State women's tennis team achieved several victories on the second day of the Redbird Invitational held at the Gregory Street Courts in Normal, Illinois. Silvia Pomarolli and Nuria Sanz advanced to the consolation singles finals in their respective flights, while Sanz and Emma Lind secured a place in the doubles final scheduled for Sunday.

In Flight 2 doubles, Sanz and Lind defeated Halbersztadt and Vlaisavljevic from UIC with an 8-1 win. They will compete against Jones and Tapia-Cruz from Belmont for the flight championship. Additionally, Lana Caculovic and Pomarolli earned a spot in a consolation doubles title match after defeating Li and Raznatovic of UNI 8-0.

For singles matches, Caculovic will play for third place following her Friday win but loss in Saturday's winner's bracket. Pomarolli and Sanz each moved forward to the consolation finals by winning their matches 6-2, 6-3 in Flights 2 and 3 respectively.

Day three of the tournament is set to begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday with doubles finals, followed by singles finals later in the day.

Flight 1 Singles: V. Chavkovskaia (MSU) defeated Lana Caculovic (ISU) 6-2, 6-3.

Flight 2 Singles (Consolation): Silvia Pomarolli (ISU) defeated A. Raznatovic (UNI) 6-2, 6-3.

Flight 3 Singles (Consolation): Nuria Sanz (ISU) defeated B. Steven (Valpo) 6-2, 6-3.

Flight 4 Singles (Consolation): D. Liu (UIC) defeated Nicole Iosio (ISU) by walkover.

Flight 5 Singles (Consolation): A. Brion (UIC) defeated Sophie Marie Lowe (ISU) by walkover.

Flight 1 Doubles (Consolation): Caculovic/Pomarolli (ISU) defeated Li/Raznatovic (UNI) 8-0.

Flight 2 Doubles: Sanz/Lindh (ISU) defeated Halbersztadt/Vlaisavljevic (UIC) 8-1.

Flight 3 Doubles (Consolation): Melato/Dethridge (MSU) defeated Iosio/Lowe (ISU) by walkover.
