The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team secured third place at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite, which concluded Monday at TPC Wisconsin in Madison. The Titans posted a final round score of 322, finishing with a two-day total of 647.
Pomona-Pitzer, ranked fourth nationally, won the event among 17 teams with a combined score of 585 after a final round 290. Ann Zhao from Pomona-Pitzer claimed the individual title by shooting a one-under-par 71 in her last round.
Sophomore Gigi Zera led Illinois Wesleyan, tying for fourth overall after recording a one-over 73 in the final round and marking her fourth career top-five finish. Junior Nora Cerroni tied for 14th with a two-round score of 160, while senior Brooke Erhard's closing round of 77 elevated her to a tie for 22nd place.
Other notable finishes for the Titans included Julia Henry tying for 27th and Ashley Wells tying for 38th. The team's next competition is scheduled for October 6-8 at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championship at Metamora Field Golf Course.
Team standings saw UW-Stout take second place (635), followed by Illinois Wesleyan (647), Aurora (652), and Dubuque (660) rounding out the top five.
