The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team leads after the first round of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championship, which began Monday at Metamora Fields Golf Club in Metamora, Illinois. The Titans posted a team score of 301, giving them an 11-stroke advantage over Carthage College, which finished with a score of 312.
Junior Emily Gastrau from Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, shares the individual lead after carding a two-over-par 73. She is tied with Carthage's Lexi Manteufel. Freshman Julia Henry shot her best round as a Titan with a four-over 75 and is tied for third place. Sophomore Gigi Zera and junior Nora Cerroni also placed in the top ten with rounds of 76 and 77, respectively.
Augustana College and North Central College both ended the day with scores of 315, trailing behind Carthage. Other schools competing include Millikin University (340), Carroll University (342), Elmhurst University (343), and Wheaton College (379).
The next round will begin Tuesday morning at Metamora Fields Golf Club, with the first Illinois Wesleyan tee time scheduled for 10:48 a.m.
