The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team finished third at the Wabash Invite, held at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis on Tuesday, October 7. The Titans, ranked eighth nationally, posted a final round score of six-under-par 282 to secure their top-three placement. The team's 'B' squad followed closely behind in fourth place.
Senior Aidan Healy achieved his second top-five finish of the season by tying for fourth with a career-best 54-hole total of six-under 210. He shot a one-under 71 in the final round. Senior Juney Bai also placed in the top ten, finishing seventh with a three-under total of 213 after carding a one-under 71 on the last day. Freshman Ryan Andrews earned his first collegiate top-ten finish by placing tenth with a career-best total score of 214.
Emory University led the tournament and won with an overall score of 30-under-par (834). Carnegie Mellon finished second at 18-under (846). Illinois Wesleyan matched its previous round's six-under performance to claim third place with an overall score of 859. Emory's Kevin Mu was named individual champion after shooting twelve under par across three rounds.
Illinois Wesleyan will conclude its fall schedule at the Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University from October 13-14 at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The event is expected to feature several nationally ranked teams.
