The Illinois Wesleyan University women's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw against Wheaton College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) match on Wednesday night in Wheaton, Illinois. The Titans now hold a season record of 5-5-2 and are 0-1-1 in conference play, while Wheaton stands at 4-4-4 overall and 1-1-1 in the CCIW.

Wheaton had a slight advantage in offensive statistics, recording 13 total shots to Illinois Wesleyan's 10, and six shots on target compared to five for the Titans. Illinois Wesleyan sophomore goalkeeper Vanessa Gray made five saves during the match, while Wheaton's goalkeeper recorded four.

During the first half, junior Sophie Lampert nearly scored for the Titans in the 11th minute, but her shot from close range hit the left post after a save attempt by the Wheaton goalkeeper. Sophomore Taylor Haun tried to follow up on the rebound but was fouled by a defender before she could take a shot.

Late in the second half, Illinois Wesleyan created several scoring opportunities. In the 85th minute, sophomore Liza Wiley's header struck the left post and bounced back into play. After several deflections off Wheaton defenders, Wiley attempted another shot that was blocked. Sophomore Keira Robinson then took a final attempt, which was also blocked by Wheaton.

The Titans earned a corner kick with less than five minutes remaining, but were unable to convert as both teams finished without a goal.

Illinois Wesleyan will return home to Neis Field on Saturday, October 11, for a homecoming game against North Park University. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will be followed by a men's team game.
