Illinois Wesleyan University women's cross country senior Maddie Crabtree has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Runner of the Week for the fourth time this season, according to an announcement from the league office on Tuesday, October 7. This recognition marks Crabtree's fourth award in five weeks and is the fifth such honor of her collegiate career.
Crabtree earned her latest accolade after competing at the Dan Hutson Invite hosted by Wartburg College on Saturday, October 4. She finished third overall with a time of 22:30.3. The only runners ahead of Crabtree were Molly Liston from Gustavus Adolphus and Peyton Steffen from Central. These two athletes are also the only competitors to finish ahead of Crabtree in four meets this season.
Crabtree led Illinois Wesleyan's team to a seventh-place finish at Max Cross Country Course, which will also host the NCAA Division III Regional later in the season.
Looking ahead, Crabtree and her teammates are scheduled to compete at the Augustana Interregional Meet on Saturday, October 18, at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Illinois.
