Village of Gridley Village Board met Sept. 4.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. Jeff Benedict opened with a word of prayer.

President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Richard Martin, Kevin Krones, Jay Kiefer and Mick Finck. Absent was Beth Steidinger. Quorum present. No employees were present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the August meeting minutes. There were none. Jay made a motion to approve the minutes and Kevin seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk.” There were no additions. Michael made a motion to approve the bills and payroll. Mick seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Trustees reviewed the Treasurer’s report. After discussion, Mick made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report. Jay seconded. All trustees answered in the affirmative.

Sandy Cook with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP attended the board meeting and presented the audit to the board.

Michael presented Resolution 2025-1 authorizing the forgiveness of adjustments from O & M to General Fund, from Cemetery Fund to General Fund, from Social Security Fund to General Funds, from Westview Park Fund to General Fund and from Tort Fund to General Fund. After discussion, Michael made a motion to pass Resolution 2025-1. Jay seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck yea. Motion carried.

Mick presented a quote from JLR Tree Service in the amount of $17,150 to trim and/or remove trees as specified in the area East of Center Street and North of First Street through Sixth Street. After discussion, Mick made a motion to accept the quote from JLR Tree Service. Richard seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Mick presented two quotes for re-shingling the roof of the town hall and bell cover. New Heights Roofing quoted $3,780.00 for “tear off and re-shingle portion of town hall roof and bell cover, dispose of roofing debris in dumpster.” Wellwood Construction quoted $5,787.50 to “Remove termination bar and all existing shingles, replace any damaged sheeting, install all new drip edge and synthetic underlayment, install Malarkey Vista Class 4 impact rated shingles for town hall roof and bell cover. Roofing debris to be removed by Wellwood.” After discussion, Mick made a motion to approve the quote by Wellwood Construction. Michael seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Jay presented a quote from Starks Lot Striping in the amount of $3,900 for layout and restriping Center Street, Third Street parking stalls, town hall parking, Layout and restripe 3 crosswalks, restripe 9 crosswalks, restripe 4 handicap stalls, Layout and stripe 1 handicap stall, and layout and stripe one no parking zone around fire hydrant. After discussion, Jay made a motion to approve the quote. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Michael presented Ordinance #665, Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for fiscal year ending April 3, 2026. After discussion, Michael made a motion to approve Ordinance #665. Richard seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Jay presented Ordinance #666, an ordinance Prohibiting the Use of Engine Brakes by Trucks Within the Village of Gridley. A sign will be posted on Western Avenue approach from the North. Jay made a motion to pass Ordinance #666. Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.

Mick made a motion to adjourn. Richard seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Krones-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. Motion carried.
