The Illinois Wesleyan University men's golf team secured a runner-up finish at the Tartan Invitational, held at Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. The tournament, which concluded on Tuesday, October 14, featured a strong field of teams, with Illinois Wesleyan ranked fifth nationally.

The Titans recorded their best team score of the event in the final round, posting a 292. They finished tied for second with No. 23 Rochester, both teams ending with a total score of 889, just three strokes behind No. 6 Huntingdon, which claimed the team title with an overall score of 886 after coming from behind on the last day. No. 4 Carnegie Mellon and No. 1 Emory completed the top five, finishing with scores of 890 and 899, respectively. Carnegie Mellon's Joshua Wang took home individual honors with an even-par total after shooting a three-under 69 in his final round.

Sophomore Joey Sluzas led Illinois Wesleyan individually, shooting a one-under 71 in his final round. This performance earned him seventh place and marked his second top-10 finish of the season. Senior Juney Bai finished in 15th place with a total score of 223, which was his fourth top-20 result this year. Sophomore Pablo Castro also contributed with a final round 73, finishing in a tie for 25th. Aidan Healy and Myles Lahart rounded out the team’s scoring, finishing in ties for 25th and in 29th place, respectively.

The Tartan Invitational marked the end of the fall season for Illinois Wesleyan men's golf. Details on the team’s spring schedule will be available on the men’s golf schedule page of iwusports.com.

Illinois Wesleyan’s individual standings were as follows: Joey Sluzas (7th), Juney Bai (15th), Aidan Healy (T-25th), Pablo Castro (T-25th), and Myles Lahart (29th). The full team standings placed Huntingdon first, followed by Illinois Wesleyan and Rochester tied for second, Carnegie Mellon in fourth, and Emory in fifth.
