Elise Fennell leads Illinois State at Lady Red Wolves Classic with top-five finish

Elise Fennell led Illinois State University at the Lady Red Wolves Classic with a final-round score of 69, finishing in a tie for fourth place. The event took place in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and marked the conclusion of the Redbirds’ fall golf season.

Fennell's 69 was her second round at or under par during the tournament and her sixth and seventh such rounds out of 12 this fall. She now has 21 career rounds at or under par, tying her for third-most in program history alongside Samantha Richdale, who played from 2002 to 2006. Fennell achieved a bogey-free round with three birdies and 15 pars, marking her sixth career round under 70.

Reagan Kennedy ended the tournament with a final-round 73, bringing her total to 219 over three rounds and placing her in a tie for 28th. Kennedy recorded three birdies and 11 pars on the final day. Dani Grace Schrock finished one stroke behind Kennedy with a total score of 220 after shooting a three-over-par 75 in the last round, which included 15 pars.

Reagan Braker made her debut in NCAA Division I golf and finished 102nd after posting an 88 in the final round.

The Lady Red Wolves Classic concludes ISU’s fall schedule. The team’s next competition is scheduled for February at the UNCG / Advance Golf Partner Collegiate from February 1 to February 3.
