Illinois Wesleyan women’s golf ends fall season with strong finish at Golfweek October Classic

The Illinois Wesleyan University women's golf team completed its fall season with an 11th-place finish at the Golfweek October Classic, held at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Florida. The Titans recorded their lowest score of the tournament in the final round, shooting a 15-over-par 303.

Junior Nora Cerroni led Illinois Wesleyan with a three-day total of 224, finishing tied for 13th place. She matched her second-round score with a three-over-par 75 on the final day. Junior Emily Gastrau posted the team's best single round on Tuesday, carding a two-over-par 74 and tying for 27th overall with a total score of 230.

Other contributors included Julia Henry, who finished in 48th place with a score of 236, while Gigi Zera and Grace Fagan both tied for 80th at 249. Brooke Erhard, competing as an individual, finished with a score of 252.

Williams College secured the team title by posting a final round of ten-under-par 278, winning by a margin of 21 strokes over Randolph-Macon. Hamilton College took third place, followed by Grinnell and UW-Stout to complete the top five teams.

Illinois Wesleyan's fall campaign concludes with this event. The spring schedule is expected to be announced soon on the team's website and will begin in March.
