The Illinois State University women's tennis team is set to conclude its fall season at the 2025 ITA Midwest Regional Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Illinois in Champaign. The event will run from October 16 through October 21 at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The tournament features a singles main draw with at least 64 players and a doubles main draw comprising 32 teams. Qualifying rounds will determine final participants, with singles matches starting Thursday morning at 9 a.m. Two rounds of qualifying are scheduled for the opening day.
According to organizers, "The Division I Regional Championships are one of the longest-running and most successful programs administered by the ITA each year." The competition serves as a pathway to national play: both singles finalists and the doubles champion from each regional automatically earn spots in the NCAA Individual Championships, which are slated for November 18-23, 2025, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida.
Looking ahead, Illinois State's women's tennis team will begin its spring dual-meet season in January. This will lead into Missouri Valley Conference play and culminate with participation in the MVC Women's Tennis Championships from April 24-26, hosted by UIC.
