Illinois State University’s women’s swimming and diving team will compete against the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) in a dual meet at the Flames Natatorium this Friday, with events starting at 4:00 p.m.

This will be the Redbirds’ second away meet of the season. At their previous competition, the Eastern Classic held on October 10-11, Illinois State secured three event wins. Graduate student Mia Snow contributed significantly by winning the 100-yard butterfly in 53.70 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 50.63 seconds. Snow also participated in the 200 medley relay with teammates Chloe Tyler, Fris, and Turken. The relay team won with a time of 1:43.27, which ranks among the top ten fastest times in program history. Senior Chloe Tyler also achieved a podium finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.48 seconds.

UIC enters the meet following a 192-102 loss to Southern Illinois on October 10. The Flames are coached by Ashley Dell, who is in her fourth year with the program. Dell previously served as an assistant coach at both the University of Iowa and Southern Methodist University.

Friday’s matchup is the fifth dual meet between Illinois State and UIC, and their first meeting since 2023. Illinois State leads the series 5-0 and won the most recent contest 190-107.
