Illinois State University's soccer team will host UIC at Adelaide Street Field on Sunday afternoon for Senior Night, with the match scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. and available for viewing on ESPN+.
Prior to the start of the game, Illinois State will recognize four players: seniors Jade Rehberger and Abby Hall, along with redshirt juniors Kate Nonn and Sammi Cenek. These athletes will be honored during pre-game ceremonies.
The Redbirds approach Sunday's contest following a 1-0 win over UNI, which extended their unbeaten streak to seven games. Sammi Cenek scored her first goal of the season in that match. The team also recorded its ninth shutout of the year, marking their highest total since 2019. Redshirt sophomore Madi Valenti achieved her 13th career shutout and is now ranked fifth all-time in program history for career shutouts. Over the last 11 matches, Illinois State has allowed only two goals.
Freshman Grace Petrie was named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week after her performance against UNI, earning this recognition for a second consecutive week. This marks the seventh straight week an Illinois State player has received a weekly conference honor.
UIC comes into Sunday's game after securing its first Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season with a 1-0 result over Drake. The Flames are led by head coach David Nikolic, who is in his fifth season with UIC after serving as an assistant coach at Milwaukee and Northwestern.
