Illinois State University’s Christian Capacci advanced to the Singles Main Draw Round of 32 at the 2025 ITA Midwest Regional held at XS Tennis Village in Chicago. Capacci secured his spot in the main draw after two qualifying wins on Thursday and then defeated Hayden Jones with a score of 7-5, 6-2 on Friday.
The tournament also saw Illinois State’s doubles team Finn Logue and Jett Leong win their opening match against Sergio Alejandro Gonzalez and Lucas Britez, 8-4, before falling in the next round to Alexander Bernard and Alex Okonkwo by an 8-2 margin.
Other results for Illinois State included singles losses for Adrian Dibildox and Tomas Valencia. In doubles play, other ISU pairs also faced early exits.
Competition is set to continue Saturday morning with consolation doubles matches beginning at 8 a.m., followed by singles main draw round of 32 matches and additional rounds later in the day.
