The Illinois Wesleyan University men's and women's swimming and diving teams are set for their first away meet of the season at the Monmouth Invite, scheduled for Saturday, November 1. The competition will begin at 1 p.m. in Pepper Natatorium on the campus of Monmouth College.
This marks the Titans' first appearance at the Monmouth Invite, where they will compete against Monmouth College, Grinnell College, and Illinois College. According to the university, a live stream of the event will be available for viewers.
Illinois Wesleyan recently opened its season at home during the IWU Halloween Invite on October 25. At that event, the team achieved seven first-place finishes. The women's team secured second place overall, finishing just eight points behind Augustana College.
On the women's side at the Halloween Invite, Illinois Wesleyan took first in both the 3x100-yard butterfly relay and 3x100-yard backstroke relay. Senior Natalie Porter won both the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events. Senior Kayleigh Kuschewski claimed victory in the 200-yard breaststroke, while junior Sam Borre finished first in the 200 backstroke.
For the men's team, sophomore Tate Thomas captured a win in the 200 freestyle to complete a sweep for Illinois Wesleyan in that distance category.
The upcoming meet provides an opportunity for both teams to continue their early-season momentum as they face new opponents away from home.
