How much has Odell CCSD 435 overspent over the past 10 years?

Odell Community Consolidated School District 435 accumulated $2.20 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a McLean County Times analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Odell CCSD 435 reported 18.1 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went up 14.2 percent. The resulting deficit grew by 17 percent from 2008 to 2017.
