According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 387 students during the year. That equates to 2.8 percent of the 13,586 students enrolled.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for drugs. The category includes 16 incidents. There were five incidents of violence without physical injury. For 18 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
Of the 360 out-of-school suspensions, 289 were given to boys and 71 were given to girls, including 242 elementary or middle schoolers and 118 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 304 incidents. There were 19 incidents of drugs. For 193 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
