According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 476 students during the year. That equates to 9 percent of the 5,300 students enrolled.
Of the 192 in-school suspensions, 140 were given to boys and 52 were given to girls, including 57 elementary or middle schoolers and 135 high schoolers.
The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 163 incidents. There were 26 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 178 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
Of the 284 out-of-school suspensions, 190 were given to boys and 94 were given to girls, including 188 elementary or middle schoolers and 96 high schoolers.
The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for violence without physical injury. The category includes 160 incidents. There were 107 incidents of unspecified reasons. For 118 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
