CITY OF BLOOMINGTON: Lane Changes on Regency (Fairway)

Lanaresurf

City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.

The City of Bloomington Public Works Department is currently resurfacing Regency Drive between Oakland Avenue and Empire Street (IL Route 9). Regency Drive becomes Fairway Drive north of Canterbury Court. Following the final paving, the lanes will be changed to a single lane in each direction with a center two-way left turn lane. To match the new single lane traveling southbound, additional lane changes will be made north of Empire Street.

Paving on this road is expected to be substantially completed for the season by Friday November 2nd, weather permitting. Minor work may continue for several more weeks. Drivers are requested to use caution when traveling through this area for the safety of the construction workers as well as themselves.

An additional portion of Fairway Drive from Empire Street (IL Route 9) to just north of Robinhood Lane will be completed in Spring, 2019. This work will include extending the southbound right turn lane further north and installing a raised median.

For additional information, please contact Jim Karch, Public Works Director at jkarch@cityblm.org or (309) 434-2225.
