City of Chenoa issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.
With the leaves starting to really fall for the year, we would like to be sure that our community knows what their options for disposing of them are:
1. We are asking that residents, who are capable, to bag all leaves and grass for collection in a bio-degradable bag. Bagging leaves allows 1 employee to be able to collect instead of the 3 employees it takes to run the leaf truck. Bags are available for free at City Hall.
2. The city dump is open if you choose to take your own brush and leaves out there as an option. Remember that the dump is for brush and leaves only. DO NOT take any other items out there.
3. Residents can burn leaves on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7 am. until 7 pm. October 1 through November 30. Some rules for burning are:
*Burn only on property you own
*No burning on blacktop or any City streets or roadways
*No burning if wind is more than 10mph
*All fires must be attended at all times
*An operable hose must be ready to use within reach of fire
A reminder not to blow leaves into the streets and to keep the drains clean.
