Analysis: Lexington administrators rank 633rd in state for average pay

Administrators in Lexington Community Unit School District 7 earn an average of $88,936 per year, ranking 633rd out of 864 districts in the state, according to a McLean County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 1.4% lower than in 2014 and 0.6% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 17.1% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Mclean County school district enrolled 504 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 168 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
