CITY OF BLOOMINGTON: John M. Scott to Host Community Meeting on New Grant Program

Grant

City of Bloomington issued the following announcement on July 12.

The John M. Scott Health Commission is pleased to announce the launch of a new grant program to support organizations and initiatives that prevent illness and promote health and wellbeing. Grantees must support the healthcare needs of income-qualified individuals who are (1) underserved by the mainstream healthcare system and (2) reside in McLean County. Grants totaling over $400,000 will be made in 2019-2020 following an online application process that is planned for August 2019.

An information session will be held on Monday, July 22 from 1:30-3:00pm at the IWU Ames Library in the Beckman Auditorium (lower level). At the meeting, speakers representing the McLean County Museum of History, the McLean County Community Health Council Steering Committee, and Trust’s Advisory Commission will explain the history, context, and plans for this new grant program. A Q&A session will follow. RSVPs are not required and anyone is welcome to attend. Free parking available in the lot at the NE corner of Park and Empire. If you cannot attend but would like to receive more information, please send your contact information to jtoney@cityblm.org to be added to the mailing list for future announcements.
