Reading Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to 31 calls in 2018 - 20.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Reading included 23 fires - 12 structure fires, one vehicle fire and 10 other fires.

The department also received eight false calls.
