Buckley Fire Protection District responded to 13 calls in 2018 - 62.5 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Buckley included 12 fires - three structure fires, six vehicle fires and three other fires.

In all, the department saw $60,000 in fire loss - or about $5,000 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related death.

The Buckley Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $181,474 in 2017.
