PONTIAC AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: 21 Residents of Livingston County Have Tested Positive For COVID-19

Pontiac Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 21.

Twenty-one more residents of Livingston County have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). Sadly, one more resident has also died due to complications related to COVID-19. The individual was a male in his 60s. Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) officials were notified of the new COVID-19 cases and COVID-19 related death on October 30, 2020 in accordance with state and local public health protocol. The newly confirmed cases include a male under the age of 10; three females and a male in their 20s; two females in their 30s; two females and two male in their 40s; a female and male in their 50s; a female and two males in their 60s; two female in their 70s; a female in her 80s (asymptomatic at the time of testing); and two females in their 90s (both asymptomatic at the time of testing), all of whom are recovering in isolation. 

LCHD officials continue to work closely with the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and have investigated and notified any individuals who may have had exposure to these individuals who tested positive for COVID-19. 

As of October 30, 2020, the LCHD has received 18,649 COVID-19 test results. Of that, 777 COVID-19 tests have been positive, 17,872 tests were negative, 640 of the previously reported cases have been removed from isolation, 125 cases remain active, two cases are currently hospitalized, and, sadly, twelve cases have resulted in death due to complications related to COVID-19. Of those individuals who have tested positive, 53 were asymptomatic at the time of testing.
