State Rep. Keith Sommer (R-Morton) recently thanked Illinois House of Representatives Assistant Minority Leader state Rep. Mike Unes (R-East Peoria) for his kind words leading up to Sommer’s recent election victory.

Sommer posted a copy of Unes' statement on his social media page.

“I have had the pleasure of serving in the Illinois House with Representative Keith Sommer for the past 10 years. Keith is a common sense legislator with a strong passion for voiceless children of our State,” Unes’ endorsement read. “He is a quiet leader who does his homework. That is why when he speaks either in the House Republican Caucus, or on the House Floor, his words are listened to very closely.”

Sommers' approach as a legislator is simply an extension of the caring way he approaches those he deals with in every aspect of his life, Unes said.

“He is loyal, caring and devoted to his wife, kids, family, friends, and constituents across the district,” Unes said. “It is the all-around good people like Keith that I will miss serving with in the General Assembly. Please support my friend and colleague Rep. Keith Sommer.”
