City of Fairbury City Council met Nov. 18.
Here is the minutes provided by the council:
1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order.
2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Charles Hoselton, Jon Kinate, Gerald Hoffman, Lynn Dameron and Bill Schmidgall. Bruce Weber was absent.

4. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda – Motion by Dameron, second by Hoffman to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda:
A. Minutes from the November 4, 2020, council meeting
B. Voucher Invoice Register listing the bills
C. Treasurer’s Cash Report (second meeting of the month)
D. Check Register (second meeting of the month)

F. Overtime Report

5. Mayor Slagel opened Public Comment and the following persons provided comments:
Joe Costa thanked the council for agreeing to resurface the pickle ball courts and for allowing a tennis court to be converted to an additional pickle ball court

→ Streets & Fire – Martin Steidinger, Superintendent & Chief was absent
→ Sewer – Brad Duncan, Superintendent reported
• The treatment plant will be fully operational by early December which is several weeks earlier than originally projected
→ Water – Mike Mellott, Superintendent was absent
→ Police – Robert McCormick, Chief – no report
→ City – Brett Ashburn, Superintendent reported
• City Hall has suffered its first real impact of COVID-19 which is why City Hall is currently closed to foot traffic however, City Hall remains “open” regular hours for phone calls and such
→ Legal – Steven Mann, City Attorney was absent
