City of Lexington issued the following announcement on Jan. 21.
This will be the first time we have owned our own property and that is a wonderful opportunity that brings us tremendous joy.
Steve and April Fritzen started Coffee Hound in 2002 with the dream of working together and owning our own business.
At Coffee Hound we are dedicated to our craft, staff, community, and producers. All our bakery is made in-house and from scratch.
Steve is both a coffee roaster and baker. April is the bookkeeper, customer liaison, and Human Resources person. However, we are not the sole operators; we have a strong team of skilled staff representing all we do and are the backbone of growth and expansion.
Our move to Lexington is greatly part of our community experience after Jon Fritzen, Steve’s brother, opened the Lexington Social Restaurant. Steve and April fell in love with the community. When the opportunity to get the Brandt property arose, we figured out how it would fit into our business.
We plan to add a cafe and drive-thru, an outdoor patio/garden space, and move our entire roasting operation to Lexington
