City of Pontiac Committee of the Whole Met Feb. 22.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Committee of the Whole meeting of the Pontiac City Council was held at the Eagle Theater, Pontiac.

Mayor Alvey called to order the meeting at 6:00 P.M.

The City Clerk was directed to call roll, and the following members of the Council were present: Barr, Giovanini, Eckhoff, Causer, Bradshaw, Myers, Gabor and Wille.

Agenda

Budget - FY 21-22 - Discussion

Dave Wilson, Building & Zoning, gave the Council a recap fo the previous year including building inspections that were completed, (38) written violation notices, rental inspections, and permits issued. A proposal was made to have a yearly contractors registration done with a fee of $50.00. At this time there are no fees.

Chief Woolford of the Police Department noted at this time the department was fully staffed. He also talked about the vehicle and equipment needs for the coming year. Firearms that need to be replaced will cost approximately $7,000.00. Also vehicle camera replacement at a cost of $13,000.00.

Discussion on the Criminal Justice Reform bill that was just signed by the Governor.

Chief Campbell, City Fire Department gave his overall report of the past year. The department has received $271,202.00 in grant applications for various items. The department will begin agin the child car seat safety check program and plans are to start a public CPR class at the Rec Center. Discussion on the paramedics program and the need for a Ladder Truck.

On motion duly made and seconded, the Committee of the Whole was adjourned.
