City of Fairbury City Council met Jan. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Charles Hoselton, Jon Kinate, Gerald Hoffman (attended remotely) and James Tipton. Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Bruce Weber, and Bill Schmidgall were absent.

3. Pledge of Allegiance

Motion by Hoselton, second by Kinate to approve Alderman Hoffman’s request to attend the meeting remotely. Motion carried 3-0. YES-Hoselton Kinate Tipton

4. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda – Motion by Kinate, second by Hoselton to approve the following items on the Consent Agenda:

A. Minutes from the January 5, 2022, council meeting

B. Voucher Invoice Register listing the bills

C. Treasurer’s Cash Report (second meeting of the month)

D. Check Register (second meeting of the month)

E. NONE

F. Overtime Report

Motion carried 4-0. YES-Hoselton Kinate Hoffman Tipton

5. Mayor Slagel opened Public Comment and the following persons provided comments:

B. Consideration of bids received to install acoustic panels in the council chambers -
