Cornell School District #426 Board of Education met Feb. 6.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

I. Call to Order at 5:00pm.

II. Roll Call: Hansen, present, Hart- present, Ruddy- present, Van Weeldon- present, Wichman- present, Groves- present, Schumm- present

III. Public Comment- Catherine Delheimer made comment on masks

IV. Discussion on TRO/ executive order to stop mask mandate and give power back to school districts discussed. This would revert the school plan back to CDC guidelines, which states that it recommends masks. This would also allow parents to choose if their child will wear masks or not. The return to school plan was to be reviewed by Mar 1, 2022 . Comment by board member Wichman stating he has talked to multiple medical providers in the community and believes it is in the children's best interest to continue wearing masks during school.

V. Action item- return to CDC guidelines which only recommends wearing masks, giving parents a choice if their child (ren) should wear masks at school. Motion to approve making masks optional at school made by Hansen, seconded by Schumm, motion approved 6-1.

VI. Motion to adjourn meeting, made by Hart, seconded by VanWeelden, motion approved 7-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:07pm.

VII. Next meeting: Feb 16, 2022 .
