City of Fairbury City Council met July 6.

1. Call to order – Mayor Slagel called the meeting to order at 6:36 p.m.
2. Mayor Slagel directed the Clerk to call roll and the following members of Council answered present: Gary Norris, Steve Endres, Charles Hoselton, Jon Kinate, Bruce Weber, Gerald Hoffman, James Tipton and Bill Schmidgall.

• The railroad is set to begin work replacing crossings on 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th Streets; these crossings will be closed up to 5 days. The railroad will return to replace 2nd and 3rd Streets at a later date

7. Reports of Aldermen
→ Alderman Norris has received several inquiries regarding the garbage transition; City Superintendent Ashburn informed the council that an informational letter is being drafted and should be mailed to each address very soon
→ Alderman Endres reported a resident complained to him that city trees were rubbing his roof and wondered if the city was going to be trimming. Street Superintendent Steidinger indicated property owners should trim low-hanging branches
