State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) recently shared pictures of herself in the Old State Capitol as she was set to be sworn in for another term in the 103rd General Assembly.

“It was an honor to be inaugurated to the State Senate at the historic IL Old State Capitol where former President Abraham Lincoln gave his famous 'House Divided” speech nearly 165 years ago,' Rezin posted on Facebook.

Just a week earlier, the veteran lawmaker posted a video to her page where she reminded constituents: "I’m Sen. Sue Rezin, coming here from the Old Capitol in Springfield. We just finished the inauguration for the beginning of the 103rd General Assembly. It's an honor to serve you. It's an honor to serve everybody in the 38th district. I'm humbled and thank you so much for your support."

Rezin ran unopposed in the 2022 general election. She was first elected in 2010.

Earlier this month, Rezin was reinstalled as Deputy Minority leader for Senate Republicans, a post she also held in the previous General Assembly.

In assigning her to the post, Senate Minority Leader John Curran (R-Lemont) said, “Sen. Rezin has shown a true commitment to the people of our state and improving Illinois government on their behalf. I have full trust in her leadership abilities and know that she will continue to be a tremendous asset to me and our entire caucus.”
