Village of Gridley Village Board met Dec. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Gridley was held at the Village Hall on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. President Benedict opened with a word of prayer.

President Benedict called the meeting to order and directed the Clerk to call roll, and upon roll call, the following Trustees answered present: Michael Finck, Richard Martin, Keri Hany, Jay Kiefer and Mick Finck. Quorum present. Employees Phil Romersberger and Jen Hany were present.

Jeff asked if there were any corrections or additions to the November meeting minutes. There were none. Mick made a motion to approve the minutes and Keri seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the “Bills received by Clerk.” There were no additions. Michael made a motion to approve the bills and Keri seconded the motion. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Board reviewed the Treasurer’s Report. After discussion, Keri made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report and Richard seconded. All present answered in favor.

Michael presented the liability and work comp insurance renewal. The cost for one year is $41,184.00 which represents a 5.5% increase over last year. After discussion, Michael made a motion to approve the insurance renewal with Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust (ICRMT). Mick seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.

Jeff reported that Hoerr Construction performed a video inspection and jetting of the storm sewer on Market Street. They cleared some roots and found the tiles to be in good enough shape to line with the sock system. Bids will be extended this winter.

Jeff introduced Pastor Andy Huette and Tim Johnson from Christ Community Church. Andy and Tim presented some concept drawings to the board for planned expansion of the church. Plans are still preliminary and they will work closely with the village for any drainage as well as building permits or variances that may be needed.

Mick made a motion to adjourn. Keri seconded. Roll call: Michael Finck-yea, Martin-yea, Hany-yea, Kiefer-yea, Mick Finck-yea. All present voted in the affirmative. Motion carried.
