Illinois State University Associate Professor Dr. Kate Sheridan (kmsher2@ilstu.edu), is the point of contact for a survey which was mailed to citizens of the state last week targeting information of adults 18 years old and older.

While the survey claims to be tied to “seeking information regarding the characteristics of Illinois residents in order to guide public health spending within the State”, we find it confusing in light of the fact only four questions deal with matters that could be tied to spending our tax dollars.

The majority of the questions are about a person’s sexual activities, preferences, and identity.

We asked the professor if she can tell us what a person’s sexual preferences/identity have to do with how the state spends taxpayer dollars.

At the time of publication, we have not received a response but will update the article if and when any response is provided.

A Freedom of Information Act request has been submitted for more information as to the total taxpayer dollars being devoted to this survey.

A copy of the survey can be downloaded at this link.
