Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President, Eric Johnson. Roll call was answered as indicated, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Others present included Superintendent, Mr. Gary Doughan, Assistant Principal, Mr. Michael McDermaid, Teacher, Cynthia Palen, Teacher, Lisa Doughan, and Teacher, Brittany Masching.

Motion to Approve the Consent Agenda that includes the following: (Strategic Priority #3: Finances that Support Student Learning)

a) Minutes from the February 14th, 2023 meeting

b) Payroll, Bills and Financials for the month of February 2023

Superintendent’s Report

● Cameron Palmer received the Pontiac Chamber of Commerce award; he will also be recognized at Graduation for this award.

● Mr. Doughan and Mr. McDermaid will take student nominees to the Illinois Principals breakfast on April 6th. This award will also be recognized at Graduation.

● Graduation Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m.

● The Spring Concert is scheduled for Thursday, April 27th at 6:00 p.m.

● Math and ELA curriculum is ready for renewal. Social Studies and Science curriculum samples were requested.

● The Natural Gas contract expires in June and the Electric contract expires in December. The price increases are higher than expected.

● Eggenberger Lawn Care provided the school with a quote for the next mowing season.

● AR Testing and makeup tests are completed.

● Illinois Science Assessments for grades 5-8 will be completed within the next couple weeks.

● Kirk came and looked at the inside of the windows in the cafeteria. He still needs to look at the outside of the windows prior to submitting a quote.

● Board of Education dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th at 6:30 p.m. in Morris.

Assistant Principal/Athletic Director

● Girls volleyball had a nice competitive season and we hope to see a successful season next year as well.

● The track season recently started. We co-op with Odell and St Paul and have

approximately 30 athletes participating in track.

● Considered hiring a personal trainer to come work with the students a couple times per week over the summer.

● Discipline with the students has been good within school hours but there’s been some issues outside of school hours with some students not thriving well.

d) Approve 4th year probationary status for Tiffani Tipton

e) Approve Tenure status for Michelle Studholme and Bailey Zeedyk.

f) Approve Eggenberger Lawn Care for mowing at $2600 for the season.
