Le Roy Community Unit School District 2 Board of Education met Nov. 13.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

A. Call to Order

President Kevin Daugherty called the regular meeting of the Board of Education of to order at 7:06 p.m. in the Administrative Board Room of LeRoy CUSD #2, 805 N. Barnett St., LeRoy, Illinois.

B. Roll Call

Present were Kevin Daugherty, Tracey Holoch, Andy Johnson, Melinda Mayfield, and Bob Spratt. Superintendent Jeff Baughman was also present. Administrators Erin Conn, Nicole Gaddis, Steve Reschke, and Kelsey Winterland were also in attendance.

C. Approval of the October 16, 2023 Board Meeting Minutes.

A motion was made by Bob Spratt, seconded by Andy Johnson, to approve the minutes of the October 16, 2023 regular meeting as submitted. 5 yeas 0 nays. Motion carried.

D. Approve Consent Agenda.

A motion was made by Tracey Holoch, seconded by Bob Spratt, to approve the consent agenda (payroll, Treasurer's Report, Bills, Imprest Fund and Activity Funds) as submitted.

Payroll for October, 2023 in the amount of $395,803.50 plus board contributions as follows:

$9,251.71 to Internal Revenue Service for FICA;

$8,093.31 Internal Revenue Service for Medicare;

$38,172.71 to Blue Cross Blue Shield for major medical insurance;

$36,673.95 to Teachers' Retirement System for 9.0% employer contributions;

$2,321.32 to Teachers' Retirement System for .58% employer contributions;

$2,768.62 to Teachers' Health Insurance System for .92% employer contributions; and

$9,046.02 Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund for 9.67% support staff retirement.

Treasurer's Report as of October 31, 2023

Reimbursement of the Imprest Fund in the amount of $2,789.61.

The activity account reconciliation for the Elementary Activity Account for October, 2023 is attached. The activity account reconciliation for the Jr./Sr. High School for October, 2023 is attached.

G. Academic Spotlight.

Officer Robert King spoke to the Board of Education on his first couple months as the School Resource Officer. He was called in to be the current SRO for the beginning of the school year due to Officer Spencer's absence due to a personal injury. He commended the staff of LeRoy Schools in how they are handling various matters that involve students.

1. A motion was made by Tracey Holoch, seconded by Bob Spratt, to agree to set December 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. as the date and time for the Truth in Taxation Hearing for the Tax Levy for FY2025. 5 yeas 0 nays. Motion carried.

2. Discussion was held concerning the upcoming JHHS HVAC project.

3. Discussion was held concerning the impact of legislation requiring the minimum teacher salary increase based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

1. A motion was made by Andy Johnson, seconded by Tracey Holoch, to enter into executive session at 7:53 p.m. 5 yeas 0 nays. Motion carried.

2. A motion was made by Bob Spratt, seconded by Melinda Mayfield, to return to open session at 8:20 p.m. 5 yeas 0 nays. Motion carried.

L. Discuss, Consider, and Approve Personnel and Employee Contractual Issues.
